Brian Giffin
I’m grateful you’re visiting my page. Learn more about me as well as my career by checking out the listen links and my resume. I dreamed of broadcasting sports a lot like my contemporaries, listening to a portable radio under my pillow at night when I was supposed to be asleep. All the way back to 6-7 years old. Though I played sports as long as they’d let me have a uniform, I knew when the day came that I no longer could, I would pour myself into becoming a play by play announcer. A couple decades and a number of stops later, here I am.
I have tremendous passion for my craft. Early in my career I also took an interest in the technical aspects of producing and engineering the best possible broadcasts. I have enjoyed great successes in that realm as well. I have also been deeply immersed in the podcast space, particularly since 2020 and take great pride in being a part of numerous award winning productions. In 2022 I got the opportunity to produce and voice news podcasts for community newspapers all over the Atlanta Suburbs, which I enjoyed a great deal. These daily shows were extremely popular with so much community level news. We produced in excess of 60 per week. Rewarding and challenging experience! I was reminded of the importance of live and local.
Over the course of my career I’ve certainly embraced and thrived in these roles as a brand ambassador. It is important to engage the community on business, political, faith based and grassroots levels. As a people person I’ve always enjoyed all facets of this. I enjoy being active and engaged in the community.
In my role as a play by play voice I’ve had the opportunity to represent these schools as a public speaker and emcee at alumni and sponsor events, awards banquets and other gatherings. I’m very comfortable in these settings.
Over 10 years in Major League Baseball, I developed a keen understanding of radio network operations, technical aspects of content delivery, and utilization of audio pieces to enhance coverage. I’m a skilled social media and digital content creator, and am well versed in tapping into the opportunities these mediums provide to promote broadcasts as well as the team/department both in the community as well as the web.
I’m a versatile veteran broadcaster that will represent your teams and university with passion, energy and pride. Based on my producer/engineer background, you’d never have a need to go to the expense of a site engineer. I not only will handle these responsibilities flawlessly, but also will provide all the equipment necessary to execute a state of the art, dynamic broadcast.
